For over 120 years these walls have held a history of unforgettable events, and we can’t wait for yours to be one of them!
In the 1890s, the M.G. Whitlock House, the famous 150 room Marietta resort, burned to the ground. It had been a popular showplace for tourists taking the train from the hot coastal towns, to the cooler foothills of Georgia.
The resort occupied nearly the whole block of Whitlock Avenue.
In 1900, part of the land was purchased by Herbert C. Dobbs and his wife Annie where they built a Victorian mansion for their family of eight. Since then, the Whitlock Inn has served as a beloved family home, senior citizen center, bed & breakfast, and today, an award winning event facility.

Having grown up in Marietta The Whitlock Inn has always been a special monument to me and has a sort of nostalgia to it whenever I visit the city. My husband and I were lucky enough to have just had our wedding and reception there a few months ago and it was everything I dreamed it would be and more. In addition to the Inn being recently remodeled and expertly upkept, Kathy and her staff were incredible, always answering our calls and emails promptly and with the utmost professionalism and care. I would recommend to anyone looking for a wedding venue to book here immediately.

The Whitlock Inn will FOREVER hold a special place in our heart for so many reasons. The beautiful venue that Kathy has created is more than perfect. We are so so glad we went with The Whitlock Inn for our wedding reception! If the last time you saw it was before it was remodeled late 2020, you need to go see it again. This venue is so beautiful, charming and elegant. The ladies, Kathy, Janice, Lauren and Rhonda are amazing! They are so sweet and every time you talk to them you feel special. Everything we discussed with Lauren and Janice on wedding details, happened just as discussed on wedding day! We had our ceremony at our church but had cocktail hour and reception here. We had a bad experience at another venue we explored before we found the Whitlock Inn and when I met Kathy for the tour it was so touching to meet someone who cares about you and your day, you could say she reinstated my faith in people who are in the wedding industry. In other words, if you are looking for a classy, elegant, charming and a touch of the South, go with The Whitlock Inn, you won’t be disappointed!
